I was born Christian .. but I did not feel comfortable

I was born Christian .. but I did not feel comfortable.
After being in Africa (Senegal), where I attended many Muslims, I started to get interested in Islam.
A religion full of love and respect .. and I found it so beautiful I thought about it all the time.
And from one day to the next I went out with the hijab and I was proud of myself .. my parents were against, but I was finally free
Until today this religion filled my heart with joy and freedom. And i say Alhamdulillah( Praise be to Almighty God )

Whosoever Almighty God guides, none can lead him astray and whosoever is led astray cannot be guided.

Almighty God says in the Glorious Qur’an :

“Say [O Muhammad PBUH]: ‘O People of the Scripture [Jews and Christians]: come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allaah, and we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allaah.’ Then, if they turn away, say, ‘Bear witness that we are Muslims.’”

[Holy Qur’an, Aal ‘Imraan 3:64]

In another Ayah, Allah( Subhanahu wa Ta’ala ) said,

﴿وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلَـمِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ﴾

(And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him)
[Holy Qur’an 3:85]

In this Ayah ﴿3:19﴾, Allah ( Subhanahu wa Ta’ala ) said, asserting that the only religion accepted with Him is Islam,.

The best men are those who are best to thier wives

“…And live with them in kindness…”-Quran (4:19)

“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” [Holy Qur’an surah Ar-Rum(The Rome) 30:21)

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said: “The best among you are those who are best to their wife. (Ibn Majah)

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:“The most complete of the believers in faith, is the one with the best character. And the best of you are those who are best to their women.” (Tirmidhi)

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:
“The world is provision and the best provision in the world is a righteous woman.” (Sahih Muslim 1467)

Allah swt says in the Holy Qur’an: “…good women (are) for good men, and good men (are) for good women.”-Quran (24:26)

Allah swt says in the Holy Qur’an:
“And we created you in pairs.”-Quran (78:4)

Hazrat Umar Ibn Al Khattab (R.A.) said:
“No man can have anything better after faith (Iman) than a woman of righteous character, loving and child-bearing.”

Provide for her, protect her and take care of her:

Allah swt says in the Holy Qur’an:
“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women…”-Quran (4:34).

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:
Look after her and your children:

“What you feed yourself is charity for you, what you feed your children is charity for you, what you feed your wife is charity for you, and what you feed your servant is charity for you.” (Musnad Ahmad 16727) You need to take care of them, look after them all.

Prophet (SAW) even encouraged people to feed their wives with their own hands, Prophet (SAW) many times fed Aisha (R.A.) this way. “You will be rewarded for whatever you spend for Allah’s sake even if it were a morsel which you put in your wife’s mouth.” (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Express your love to her:

Anas (R.A.) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is most beloved to you?’
He answered: “`A’ishah.”
He was asked, ‘And among men?’
He said: ‘Her father.‘ (Ibn Majah and authenticated by Shayk Al-Albani)

Mu’aawiyah Ibn Haydah (R.A.) said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah (SAW), what is the right of the wife of any one of us over us?’ He said: ‘That you should feed her as you feed yourself and clothe her as you clothe yourself, that you should not say to her “May Allah make your face ugly!” and that you should not beat her.” (Reported by Abu Dawood, 2/244; Ibn Maajah, 1850; Ahmad, 4/446). You need to feed her, provide for her and take care of her.

The Righteous Woman In Paradise Is More Beautiful

The Righteous Woman In Paradise Is More Beautiful

Imam Qurtubi [رحمه الله] said:

❝The state of the believing Muslim woman in Paradise is better than that of the Hoor al-A’yin [women of Paradise] she also has a higher status and is more beautiful.

The righteous woman is from the people of the Duniya, when she enters Paradise she enters it as a reward for good deeds and an honour for her from Allaah for her Deen and righteousness.

As for the Hoor [woman of Paradise] who is from the delight of Paradise was created in Paradise for other than her and is placed as a reward for the believer for good deeds.

There is a huge difference between the one who enters Paradise as a reward for her good deeds and who was created as a reward for the person who has good deeds.

The first is a righteous woman who is a queen, a lady who has a high status, the second is the Hoor al-A’yin even though she has a great status and beauty but as far as is understood by the people, she is lesser than a queen, and she follows the command of her master the believing man, Allaah created her as a reward for him.❞

[Tafseer Qurtubi, (16/154) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]

Story of Khawlah bint al-Azwar (Women of Islam) captured by enemies

Khawlah bint al-Azwar (Women of Islam)
Allah be pleased with her Ameen

Little do they know about the story of Khawlah bint al-Azwar, who is the perfect reply to those people who think that being a Muslim woman is just equal to being oppressed. Khawlah bint al-Azwar was a warrior, a nurse, a companion of our Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH, a noble daughter, and a sister.
Born to the chief of the Bani Assad tribe, she and her family were one of the early converts to Islam. Hazrat Khawlah fought alongside her brother Dhiraar Bin Azwar, the legendary warrior. Hazrat Khawlah took part actively in the great Rashidun Army (the same army that conquered Sindh), in the conquest of Syria, Jordan, and Palestine against the then mighty Byzantine empire/Roman empire.
Hazrat Khawlahs’ bravery not only helped the Muslims to win many battles but managed to save numerous lives of Muslim soldiers including her brothers. Once during the Siege of Damascus, her brother was attacked and taken to prison by the Byzantine army.
Khawlah being the fearless women, came to her brothers’ aid by attacking the rearguard of the Byzantine army, all alone without anyone’s help while the great Muslim commander Khalid Bin Walid attacked the enemies from the front with a few men. She managed to save her brother.
Same was the case in another battle. Hazrat Khawlah and injured Muslim soldiers were attacked by a Byzantine battalion. Normally in situations like this, even the strongest of warriors get nervous but she being tigress took a knights armor and covered her face with a green scarf and fought the enemy with some soldiers. She fought so valiantly that muslim soliders thought that she was the great commander Khalid Bin Walid himself, only when she revealed her identity they found out that she woman.
One of the Rashidun army commanders, Shurahbil Ibn Hassana, reportedly said:
“This warrior fights like Khalid ibn Walid, but I am sure he is not Khalid.”

Even getting captured by the enemy couldn’t break her spirit. She got captured by the Byzantine army because of accidentally falling off her horse. She was taken to the tent of the leader of the army for pleasure but she was no soul to play with. She encouraged other prisoners and used the poles of the tents and killed 30 enemy soldiers of which Bibi Khawlah killed 5, including the man who insulted her too.

Khawlah is the shining example for not only Muslim women but for women everywhere in the world. Giving a strong message that every woman has the right to fight for her beliefs, principals, moral values and her protection.

An Iraqi All-Women Military unit and UAE’s first women college, both are named after Khawla Bint Al-Azwar. To honor her, many places are named after her in Saudia-Arabia.

The best Nikah (Marriage) according to Prophet PBUH

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

* “The best of marriage is that which is made easiest.” Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan, classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3300.

* “…And live with them in kindness…”-Quran (4:19)

* “The best among you are those who are best to their wife. (Ibn Majah)

* “The most complete of the believers in faith, is the one with the best character. And the best of you are those who are best to their women.” (Tirmidhi)

* “The world is provision and the best provision in the world is a righteous woman.” (Sahih Muslim 1467)

And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

* “The best of mahrs is the simplest (or most affordable).” (Al Haakim and Al Bayhaqi, classed as sahih by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3279)

* And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to a man who wanted to get married: “Look (for something to give as a dowry), even if it is a ring of iron.” Agreed upon. Abu Dawood (2125) and al-Nasaa’i (3375).

* Narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that ‘Ali said: “I married Faatimah (may Allaah be pleased with her) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, let me go ahead with the marriage.’ He said: ‘Give her something.’ I said: ‘I do not have anything.’ He said: ‘Where is your Hutami shield?’ I said, ‘I have it with me.’ He said, ‘Give it to her.’” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i, 3160.

* Ibn Maajah (1887) narrated that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab said: “Do not go to extremes with regard to the dowries of women, for if that were a sign of honour and dignity in this world or a sign of piety before Allaah, then Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would have done that before you. But he did not give any of his wives, and none of his daughters were given, more than twelve uqiyah. A man may increase the dowry until he feels resentment against her and says, ‘You cost me everything I own, and caused me a great deal of hardship’.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 1532. – –

NOTE: Twelve uqiyah is equivalent to 480 dirhams, i.e., approximately 135 silver riyals (134.4) (roughly £100).

This was the mahr of the daughters and wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Salam ualaykom all… in sha Allah you are all well. I reverted to Islam in January 2017 and my journey has been incredible so far, especially with the help, support and guidance of my new husband who is Muslim born from Morocco.
I am currently in Morocco until next Saturday where I will have spent a whole month here visiting him and his family. It’s my 4th visit since last September already.

A recent post in this group saw me comment about how lucky I have been to meet my current husband and it was suggested that I write a post about the challenges I’ve faced regarding my marriage but also the positives I’ve experienced. So here goes.

As I said, I converted to Islam in January 2017, but I had met my husband to be in December 2016 on Facebook. Risky, yes, but it turned out to be the biggest blessing in my life.

He is not of wealth or status but strong in Deen. My mother is concerned that he only married me for a British passport, which he has stressed time and again he cannot do because he knows it is haram and fears Allah’s judgement when he returns to Allah.

My sister, who is also a revert, is also concerned about this and at one point, it seemed like there was never going to be anything either my husband, nor I could say that would convince either of them.

I had prayed istikhara every salah every day since I first felt anything for him, which was in February 2017. I am quite good at recognising good intent from bad. Praying istikhara, I felt stronger about him. When I stopped praying during my monthly cycle I noticed my feelings didn’t seem as strong, but as soon as I prayed again and prayed istikhara especially, those feelings returned. Never once since I first spoke to him have I regretted a single moment.

In September 2017, I decided to make a trip to Morocco but wanted to take someone with me for my first visit. My mum refused to come and my sister was pregnant so I didn’t invite her but my father was open to the idea of joining me. So he came with me.

My husband to be was waiting at the airport and that was the first sign that he was genuine. I went for a walk with him and he walked me back to my accommodation before returning home for the night. 2 days later we met his mum, 2 sister’s and his brother. At dinner, he asked my father’s permission to marry me, to which my father said yes. He then asked his mum’s permission and she said yes. As I said earlier, he was not of wealth or status… his mum was uneducated and didn’t speak a word of English. Neither did his sister’s or brother but I knew right there that this was my future.

We decided to marry in January on my 2nd visit but my sister wasn’t happy with that and wanted me to wait so I agreed… Just to keep her happy but I felt like I was in a prison. As soon as I decided to marry in January again, I felt free because it was my decision again and I wasn’t doing it to please everyone else.

We married in January Alhamdulillah and his family organised the most stunning event. They bought my dresses, the cake, the food… they hired some Moroccan musicians, photographer, videographer, and waiters to serve the food. They may not speak any English but they have welcomed me without a care in the world.

We have now been married for 9 months a b they have been the best. Although I could pray before we married, I was still unsure about my prayers. So he taught me and now I have no doubts. He teaches me everything he understands in Islam and the Qur’an to help me develop Alhamdulillah.

My wife taught me a lesson I will never forget

My wife taught me a lesson I will never forget.

I went on an important trip for three days, and immediately after my arrival, I called to check on my wife and son, because I am not used to their separation, and they are not used to my absence. We have been married for three years. But unfortunately she did not answer my calls, and this went on for all the three days. My phone did not leave my hand, as I was calling her without exaggeration, every quarter of an hour or half an hour, and no one answered. I was so much worried, I thought I will go insane. I contacted my brother and sister to check on their conditions, they told me they are fine. I did not believe them, and I called my wife’s mother, and she told me the same, I asked her to tell my wife to call me. But I waited for so long, and no one called. The three days passed like three months, and sometimes I get in the midst of wanting to explode from anger.

I wondered why she is not answering my calls, and sometimes the devil whispers terrible things to me. I returned to my country, and as soon as my feet touched the ground, I rushed to my home. Because of the intensity of my fear I knocked the door, and rang the bell at the same time, until my wife opened the door. To my surprise, she was fine and very elegant, and she welcomed me with all her heart and soul. Behind her was my child, his eyes dancing with joy, he ran to hug me.

I was confused, I did not know what was the reason as to why she was not answering my calls. Soon my anger replaced my surprise. I asked my wife about the reason for this childish behavior, and that I almost cut off my trip.

My wife replied calmly: “Did you contact your mother?” I answered her, but I did not understand why she asked me that: “I do not know maybe, but I called your mother to ask about you.” She said: “What you felt in these days which you did not hear from us, is the same feeling your mother feels when you forget to call her for so many days. You do not call her, unless she takes the initiative to call you.

She too gets worried of you when you do not call her for a long time. I tried so much to alert you on this issue, but you are ignoring it. I did not find a better way than this to make you understand my point, O my dear husband.” I bend my head downward because what she said touched my heart.

She gave me my car keys and whispered in my ear: “Your Jannah is waiting for you.” I went to my first love, “my mother” after my wise wife taught me a lesson I will not forget for a lifetime.

I am grateful to her that she made me come back to my senses, before it is too late, and then I will come to regret it. I thank Allah for this wise and brave wife, and for her mother, who raised her the best way, and for my mother who chose this wife for me. Thank you Allah for Having Mercy on me and Waking me up from ignorance.

Your mother is your Jannah do not forget to call her, even once a day, and this is the least.

Because her heart waits for you, prays for you, and thinks about you all the time. Her love for you prevents her from calling you all the time for fear of disturbing you. Inform your husband, wife that their mothers are the treasure of their lives, and their Jannah.

Do not distract them from their mothers. Help your husband, wife to obey their parents.

This obeying will come back to you and you will see it in your children.
